PPMI stands for Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative. The dataset is derived from observational clinical and follow-up studies, including assessments of Parkinson's patients, high-risk groups, and healthy people.

The dataset aims to identify biomarkers of Parkinson’s disease risk, onset and progression, develop better treatment tools and provide the research community with a comprehensive, standardized, longitudinal dataset and biobank to accelerate breakthroughs and enable validation of new discoveries for clinical application.
