OpenEDS, short for Open Eye Dataset, is a large-scale dataset of eye images collected by eye-controlled cameras installed on VR helmets. Facebook hopes to promote technological development in the field of virtual reality by opening this dataset.
The dataset contains 12,759 randomly selected images from the eye videos of 152 subjects with pixel-level annotations (sclera, iris, pupil). The dataset also contains 251,690 unlabeled eye images. The eye images were collected by infrared cameras, which have a high degree of match with the data collection format in the experiment.
