METU stands for Middle East Technical University. METU Trademark is a large trademark image dataset containing 923,343 trademark images of different types (text-only trademarks, image-only trademarks, text and image combination trademarks). As of 2014, it is the largest publicly available trademark dataset, and as of 2017, it is the largest trademark dataset that does not require any preprocessing. It also contains query sets of varying difficulty, allowing trademark search researchers to compare their methods with other methods to advance the field.
