JAFFE stands for Japanese Female Facial Expression. This dataset consists of 213 facial expression images. 10 Japanese women made 7 facial expressions (6 basic facial expressions and neutral expression) according to instructions in an experimental environment, and then the facial expression images were captured by a camera. 60 annotators gave an average semantic rating for each facial expression. The 7 expressions include: Angry, Disgust, Fear, Happy, Sad, Surprise, and Neutral. The copyright of this dataset belongs to Lyons, Kamachi, & Gyoba (1997). If you wish to use the dataset, please be sure to comply with the terms of use listed in the official repository.
